Bellanna awoke and sighed as she attempted to stretch her body out. Her arms were above her head and her hands remained immobile. Stunned, she stared at the velvet straps with perplexity

“I picked out the velvet myself.”

“Lycian?”

With a silent nod of his dark head, he sat on the bed.

Bella realized that velvet tethered her to the bedposts. “Why am I bound?”

Lycian tilted his head at her. “Do you know how long we’ve been married?”

“Yes,” she answered.

“You have kissed me, embraced me and even thrown things at me.” He winked at her. “And society considers those actions to be true signs of a real marriage.”

Bella sighed with frustration.

“We have yet to consummate our marriage, Bellanna.”

“We did that the day you took me.”

“That was not consummation!” He stood up and his eyes blazed.

“What was it then, Lycian?”

“Our beginning.”

“Beginning?” she repeated with venom.

“This is the life you have.”

“Life?” She let out a cold laugh “I am not living a life anymore, remember?”

“You are my wife and you have kept yourself from me!” His eyes glowed at her.

“Let me up!” She squirmed.

“Not yet.”

She screamed in aggravation.

He simply stood quietly and watched.

Bella continued to struggle with her bonds.

“It will grow tighter as you struggle.” He smiled at her.

“You cannot mean to hold me prisoner?”

“Oh, indeed and for as long as it takes.”

“This will not be pleasant, Lycian.”

“No, but it will end up as worth it.” He drew closer.

“Do not touch me!” she warned.

Lycian placed a finger under her chin. “I plan to do more than that.”

“You mean to rape me, again?”

“It will not be that. For you will give it all to me.”

“Never!”

Lycian placed his hands over her gown and ripped the material, pulling it away from her body. He stood back, staring down and over her body from her feet all the way up to her face. He sat next to her and placed his hand upon her chest. “There is your heart, Bella.” He leaned close. “It beats just as before and someday, it will beat for me.”

She refused to speak and turned her face away.

“I shall wait.”

“For how long, Lycian? Will you wait for some miracle, or cure?” she scoffed. “Will you wait, forever?”

“Perhaps, as I do have all the time in the world and I may not have your heart, but the rest of you belongs to me!”

“Do not do this!” she pleaded.

Lycian covered her bare breasts with his warm palms, slowly tracing feather-like circles with his fingertips. He smoothly traced a path down and over her stomach until he came to the apex of her thighs.

Bella drew in a breath and kept her body rigid while she held her legs tightly together.

He lowered his lips to her stomach, his hot mouth scorching, as he tasted her skin. He used his tongue to sketch a warm path to her breasts, and took a nipple into his mouth.

Struggling to remain still and impassive, her body trembled.

With a smooth motion, he switched to the other breast.

“I will change,” she warned.
